The Occupation Health and Safety Act 2000 and the accompanying Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001 established a requirement that all business in NSW develop, maintain and use a Safety Management System to ensure the Safety of workers and anyone else on the worksite. Whatever you do on any worksite can affect others. That is why it is essential for you to have systems in place that identify and control potential hazards and risks in all areas to ensure the safety of everyone. The most essential part of any safety system is the system itself. From General Construction OH&S Inductions, site specific inductions, work activity training and daily tool box talks to an effective safety system provides the cornerstone to any safe and secure worksite. On any worksite, it is mandatory for any contractor to take every reasonable precaution to protect the health, safety and welfare of all workers. This video gives plumbing contractors and workers a starting point and an overview of what is required by the worker, the supervisor and the plumbing contractor.
